The Law Reform Commission is an autonomous institution of the Government mandated to keep under review the laws of Liberia to ensure their systematic development and reform, including in particular, the unification of laws, the elimination of anomalies and the generation of consistency and harmony in the law, the repeal of obsolete and unnecessary enactments and generally the simplification and modernization of all branches of the law. The Commission’s mandate is therefore wide and  covers all types and aspects of law, including statutory law, case law, executive orders, regulations, and policies.

Since its establishment, the Law Reform Commission has continued to be identified as a critical player in the development agenda of the country through the law reform process.
